At CCIW we don't want to live in a "holy huddle", isolated from the world outside, so we run activities and events that enable us to connect with and serve the community around us.
Each year we run various special events such as Carols by Candlelight or Jazz in the Graveyard and we're really pleased these have become well-known community occasions.
Our kids outreach activities include our Friday afternoon kids club BLAST, Scripture classes in the local primary schools, and our group for toddlers and their carers called MOCHA.
The Attic reaches out to high schoolers in the area, running on Friday nights at Five Dock.
A regular short course we run called God's World is specially designed for those who'd like to explore the foundations of the Christian faith in a relaxed environment with lots of room for questions and discussion.
Because many people in our area have English as a second language, on Friday mornings we run English classes and on Sundays the English Corner offers help with essays, forms, resumes and conversation.
The Friendship Nook, which meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Ridley Centre at St Alban’s Five Dock, provides a welcome cuppa for those who drop by, along with the opportunity to help with projects to assist Christian work overseas.
Blake Hatton is the staff member overseeing CCIW's community outreach, and he'd love to hear your questions or ideas.
